Spice Mobiles says not aware of any divestment plan - 12th july 2008

 

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Mobile phone maker Spice Mobiles Ltd is not aware of a decision by any of its shareholders to sell stake, it said in a note to BSE on Friday.

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is in talks to acquire Spice Mobile, the Economic Times reported, citing sources close to the development, whom it didn't name.

BK Modi Group, which owns 64 percent in Spice Mobile, had asked for 80-100 rupees per share, the newspaper said.

Shares of the Indian firm were up 9.9 percent at 24.95 rupees on the news in a weak Mumbai market that was trading down 3.63 percent.
